Gilpin County Community Center

This 45,000 SF facility houses an Olympic size swimming pool, recreational pool, gymnasium, elevated running track, craft areas, exercise areas, and multi-purpose areas.  Exterior walls were constructed of expanded polystyrene block forms with a concrete cavity of only 6 3/4" which were used to great advantage at significant heights.  Floors were constructed of pre-cast.  The structure also consisted of structural steel, steel studs, pre-cast architectural trusses, pre-cast columns, and steel joists with specialty shapes to accommodate the complex roof configuration.
